It has undergone extensive re-modeling and refurbishing. It is Perth's oldest hotel with a licence since 1840. The Criterion Hotel has the best of both worlds - the old and the new. The art-deco facade and some parts of it's interior are being preserved as part of the Heritage Conservation effort to enhance the old style ambience of the area surrounding Hay Street. In contrast with the heritage grandeur of the building, the rooms, lobby and its restaurants have been designed to incorporate the style of yester year yet achieving a modern day look through studied creative designing. The generous rooms are spacious and well-appointed, complemented by high ceilings, reverse cycle split air-conditioning, private ensuite & in-room safe. Mediterranean Cafe Restaurant offers a great fully cooked buffet breakfast served from 6:30am to 10am daily as well as fantastic lunch & dinner specials. Only a one-minute walk to Perth's main shopping mall, this hotel offers great value & location. The hotel has front door pick up for free CBD bus as well as free wireless broadband from lobby area.
